Invasion of the body controllers Abbot, the cruelest Texas governor elected, signed into law forbidding Texas construction companies to give workers a water break every three hours; he did so in the worst heat wave in Texas history

It may take several generations for our country to return to normalcy. The Tea Party Republicans were formed to protest all of President Obama’s accomplishments. I’m sure it was not because he was the first Black president. They have now morphed into the hate spewing anti-everything party of Trumpers.

The newly formed Supreme Court (Extreme Court) is gleefully overturning settled law every month. Several “justices” are in the pockets of billionaires with absolutely no accountability. Even our lowest State court, the Justice of the Peace position, is held to tougher ethical conduct standards than the ultimate deciders of Constitutional Law in America. These justices were recently rammed through by the indicted criminal ex-President with the help of the Federalist society, Christian nationalists, and Mitch McConnell.

Woman’s rights to reproductive health? Overturned. Affirmative action to level the playing field in college admissions? Unconstitutional say the Supremes. You don’t want to sell your services to a gay couple because it offends your sincerely held religious belief? We’re cool with that, said the Supreme Court.

Not long ago, major colleges would not accept you at all if you were black, brown, or Jewish. The biggest hypocrite on the Court, Clarence Thomas, got to his elevated position because of Affirmative Action. He is like many of my Latino friends who have developed collective amnesia. I got mine, and now I’m pulling up the ladder. As for anti-LGBTQ legislation, it is difficult to beat Texas and Florida politicians. They delight in using their formidable power to demonize a certain portion of our population.

I had always thought after reading history that one could not legally discriminate against a certain minority. This Christian nationalist conservative group of six has decided that all progress made in the past 70 years should be forgotten and thrown out with the trash. Don’t Say Gay legislation. Are the Republican bigots going to remove all books and movies that contain the word GAY and delete them? Boycott every business that’s gay friendly! Disney? Bud Light? Make it easier to hate. When they come after you because of your skin color, accent, ethnicity, or race, don’t say you weren’t warned. Bigots hate all minorities. They don’t care if you’re a registered Republican, Democrat, or Independent.

Not very long ago, many conservative Republicans kept ranting about non-elected judicial “activists” on the Supreme Court. Now that their puppets are wearing the black robes, you don’t hear that complaint anymore.

The cruelest Texas governor ever elected, Greg Abbott, just signed into law forbidding all Texas construction companies to give their workers a water break every three hours. He signed this bill in the middle of the worst heatwave in Texas history. His reason was that State and local laws were very confusing. This from a man that has worked in an air-conditioned office with staff and living off tax payer money for most of his adult life. The fact that a majority of construction workers are Latino, legal or otherwise, has nothing to do with his decision, I’m sure.

The cruelty on the extreme right never ends and is worsen daily.

  1. “House Bill 2127 passed the state Legislature and Gov. Greg Abbott promptly signed it into law on June 14. The bill, which goes into effect in September, strips construction workers in Austin and Dallas of the right to water breaks every four hours and time to rest in the shade while on the job” it seems Liberal/Leftist mentality dictates…
    NOTICE:
Job Vacancy… come work and be paid $15++ per hour to rest in the shade.
    HAPPY BIRTHDAY MONDAY MEG!

  2. Sicko Republicans. Apparently some people have never worked outdoors. I fortunately got a job at 18 years of age indoors and air-conditioned …as a janitor. This was a step up from picking cantaloupes in south Webb County and weeding high school football fields in summers the previous three years. Only a soft-brained ignorant snob would look down his nose and allude to people being “paid to rest in the shade”.

“No le saque cuñado, ese talache no es adorno.”

    • ORALE ~… HAVE we ever met? “soft-brained ignorant snob would look down his nose and allude to people being “paid to rest in the shade”.”… what makes you think you can make this determination about me when you have no idea what I’ve done to get ‘here’. Perhaps some research for another thesis would bring you to reality and exchange on something you know about… or me. Don’t point fingers Doc or show your ignorance when you have no idea to whom you’re referring … how much do you get paid for taking a water break and a rest during an 8 hr day? Are you smiling?
