The LMT opinion pages have been eerily silent for the past few months concerning any support for the convicted criminal who at times lives at the White House. The corruption emanating from anyone connected to the Trump Administration is difficult to fathom.
Never in this nation’s 250-year history has a U.S President been allowed to cause so much damage to our standing in the world and to have alienated our allies to a degree that may take generations to fix, if at all. The so-called Commander in Chief is obviously guilty of war crimes and will be held accountable if he survives long enough.
For years, this malignant narcissist in the White House kept insisting the whole world was laughing at us. He was elected in 2016 with Russia’s help, and the United Nations literally laughed at his boasting at how great he was.
In 2024 he was elected with Elon Musk’s help and millions of voters who could not bring themselves to vote for an educated Black woman. This time around the Project 2025 playbook has accomplished over 50% of its totalitarian goals. The lying candidate who promised no new wars, lower grocery and gas prices, and leaving Medicare and Medicaid alone has shown his true colors with vengeance.
This time around he hand-picked his Cabinet and closest advisors with sycophants and bootlickers that would make Hitler and Kim Jong Un envious. Our national debt has skyrocketed and inflation is alarmingly high. The President’s response is to call it “Fake News.”
For his 80th birthday, he arranged a UFC fight on the White House lawn, with most of it being paid by taxpayers. This supposed billionaire has never paid for any of his vanity projects out of his own pocket. The People’s House has been transformed into a trailer park and NASCAR crowd circus. He has destroyed half of the White House for a billion-dollar ballroom/bunker. His monumental ego wants an Arch of Trump larger than Hitler’s unbuilt Third Reich monument. His scowling face drapes many government buildings in D.C., reminiscent of his best buddy Kim Jong Un in North Korea. His daily attacks on trusted allies, threatening them with annexation and exorbitant tariffs, is something that will not be forgotten long after this megalomaniac is buried next to his first wife at his golf course.
His illegal unprovoked war on Iran has caused oil prices to rise to the highest levels ever. Since he has never pumped his own gas, or tried to balance his checkbook, he literally could not care less. The use of the White House situation room to discuss how best to cover up the horrendous Epstein File allegations of sexual abuse of children, should be front-page news and merits constant Congressional hearings.
What did V.P. Vance and A.G. Blanche know and when did they know it? Who in this Administration has made millions or billions on insider trading since the unconstitutional war with Iran commenced?
Financial friends of mine tell me that this is the classic “selling short” to make money. Who traded days before the Strait of Hormuz opened or closed based on the President’s whims? I haven’t heard from the red cap crowd lately or seen any Make America Great Again banners around town. Perhaps they have all taken off their MAGA stickers from their cars out of sheer embarrassment.
Never in my lifetime have I seen a sitting U.S. President go golfing every weekend in the middle of a war that he started or fall asleep at every other White House press conference or Cabinet meetings.
At the State level the Republicans have decided that Ken Paxton is their choice for U.S. Senator from Texas. Paxton, indicted for securities fraud, was impeached by his own party. He managed to escape relatively unscathed thanks to the Presiding Judge Dan Patrick receiving 3M dollars to preside over the case. They are attacking James Talarico, his Democratic opponent, for not being masculine enough. They also say that he insults Jesus by his actions. You cannot make this madness up.
It may take the Hague or other international tribunal to hold this corrupt administration responsible for the countless war crimes and killing of civilians in the Caribbean and Iran with no justification.
Every Republican candidate, State and Federal must be voted out and made to answer for their complicity. They have allowed this corrupt and crime-ridden Administration to get filthy rich, as in Orwell’s Animal Farm on the backs of taxpayers and hard-working Americans.
