The Laredo Little Theatre (LLT) is holding open auditions for Disney’s The Lion King Jr. Monday and Tuesday, May 18 and 19, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the theater at 4802 Thomas Ave.
All up to the age of 18 are invited to audition to sing, dance, or act. Auditionees should be prepared to sing 16 bars of any song and be ready to learn basic dance movements. Comfortable clothing is encouraged. Young performers will have the opportunity to learn a wide range of theatrical skills — including mask-making and puppetry — encouraging them to explore this beloved coming of age story with creativity and pride.
Lion King Jr. will run from July 30through August 2, and August 6through August 9.

The Lion King has captivated the imagination of audiences around the world. LLT audiences can experience this one-of-a-kind musical locally, witnessing the African savanna coming to life with Simba, Rafiki, and a cast of characters as they journey from Pride Rock to the jungle and back again in this inspiring, coming-of-age tale.
The production features classic songs from the Broadway musical and animated feature film, including “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King,” “He Lives in You,” and “Hakuna Matata.”
