The combined artistry of the Laredo College Dance and Mariachi programs treated the community to a delightful evening performance filled with majestic choreography and invigorating music.

“I wanted to put on a show that would celebrate our community’s culture and make it truly joyful and festive,” LC Dance Professor Patricia Godines said. “Working with Luis Leal, LC’s Mariachi Program director, I wanted the dancers to experience the excitement of performing with live Mariachi, feeling that connection and that sense of celebration together on stage.”

Each new dance on the program conveyed the hard work and emotion of the performers.

“We are so deeply proud of our dance students,” Godines said. “They have spent months rehearsing, training and refining their technique, and their growth truly showed on the stage. We are equally proud of our student choreographers, who poured their creativity and passion into their work and were so excited to share it with everyone. Our graduating dancers have grown tremendously during their time with us, and while they will be greatly missed, we are thrilled for what lies ahead.”

The Laredo College Dance Program provides students with a wide range of classes for transfer credit, professional development, and performance experience. Areas of study include ballet, modern, jazz, tap and world dance. To learn more about the program, email patricia.godines@laredo.edu.
