The Laredo Center for the Arts presents A Night in Spain: From Castilla to the Borderlands – an evening that brings together art, literature, food, and music inspired by Spain’s enduring cultural legacy. The fundraising event will take place Thursday, September 25, from 7 to 10 p.m.

Guests will be able to experience the rare illustrations from the first edition of Miguel Cervantes’ Don Quixote from Cliffe Killam’s personal collection, complemented by the Quest to Dream II exhibit currently on view.

The evening features a dynamic panel and a program highlighting Cervantes’ novel, which is considered a founding work of Western literature. Panel topics include art, food, history, and creativity. Food tastings, live music, and demonstrations round out the evening’s events.

Panelists include developer Cliffe Killam, an arts advocate and collector of rare Don Quixote illustrations; Chef Maite Gomez-Rejón, art historian, founder of ArtBites, and co-host of the Hungry for History podcast with Eva Longoria; and Laredo Chef Bobby González of Tabernilla Tapas and El Capataz.

Moni Godines and Mike Boswell will provide live music. A printmaking demonstration will feature etching techniques that brought storytelling to the masses.

This unique cultural event offers an immersive experience of Spain’s influence on art, cuisine, literature, and music – bridging the past and present while celebrating creativity in the heart of Laredo.

Tickets are $50 per person. Seating is limited.
