Gateway Community Health Center is offering vital health services to students from Pre-K4 through 12th grade at all three Boys and Girls Clubs of Laredo locations with its Back to School Mobile Clinic.
The clinic will provide well-child visits, vaccines (with immunization record), health checks, preventative services, and $25 sports physicals throughout July and August.
This partnership between Gateway and the Boys and Girls Club of Laredo aims to ensure that every student enters the school year healthy and up-to-date on their immunizations — regardless of insurance status. Services will be offered to those with Medicaid, Medicare, private insurance, or self-pay.
The mobile clinic will be stationed at the following club locations on the corresponding dates and times:
Main Boys Club – 500 Moctezuma St.
July 21, 28; August 4: 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.
Northwest Boys Club- 4500 Old Santa Maria Rd.
July 22, 29; August 5: 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.
LBV Boys Club – 3900 Los Presidentes Ave.
July 25; August 1 – 8 : 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.
“We believe that access to quality healthcare shouldn’t be a barrier to education,” said Elmo Lopez Jr., CEO of Gateway Community Health Center. “Our mobile clinic allows us to meet families where they are and ensure no child is left behind simply because of lack of access.”
A pre-registration form is available at each Boys and Girls Club location or can be filled out the day of service. Parents are encouraged to bring their child’s immunization record to ensure vaccines can be administered appropriately.
