The soul of Spain comes to life at Laredo College with FlamencoFest, a weeklong celebration that brings world-renowned dancers and musicians to Laredo for an unforgettable experience of art, culture, and connection.
From July 29 to August 2, the LC FlamencoFest will ignite the stage and stir the hearts of the community with the fiery rhythm of flamenco.

Generously sponsored by the Guadalupe and Lilia Martinez Foundation, FlamencoFest is a gift to the community and an opportunity to witness one of the world’s most passionate art forms.
FlamencoFest features performers who have graced stages across the globe. They are bringing their artistry to LC not only to perform but also to teach. Through a series of immersive workshops, they will share the secrets of flamenco’s expressive power with dancers and musicians of all levels.

Five workshops will be offered – three for dance (Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced) and two focused on Guitar and Cante (flamenco singing). Each session is designed to awaken creativity and deepen appreciation for flamenco.
Workshop pricing is $140 per session, with discounted rates for multiple registrations: $240 for two workshops and $340 for three. Classes will be led by acclaimed artists Andrea Lozano, Kayla Lyall, Illeana Gomez, Mario Febres, and Vicente Griego.

The festival culminates in a breathtaking tablao performance on August 2 at the Kazen Student Center. A tablao is more than a show; it’s an intimate, electric exchange between dancers, singers, musicians, and audience. Expect an evening of vibrant color, intricate footwork, and soul-stirring music that will leave you moved long after the final beat. Ticket prices for the tablao vary by table location, but every seat promises an experience that resonates in the body and soul.

“Flamenco is more than movement – it’s emotion, history, and storytelling,” Laredo College Dance Faculty and FlamencoFest Co-Chair Patricia Godines said. Co-chair Cristina Greco added, “We’re proud to bring this experience to our city for a second year. It’s a celebration of culture that resonates deeply with our community. Whether you’re stepping into flamenco for the first time or refining your artistry, there’s a place for you here. We want everyone to feel the fire of flamenco through our workshops that welcome all skill levels and the beautiful tablao performance where the flavor of Spain comes alive.”
