The Laredo Theater Guild International (LTGI) summer production of playwright Julian Fellowes’ School of Rock: The Musical opens July 10 at the Guadalupe and Lilia Martinez Fine Arts Theater on the Laredo College Fort McIntosh Campus.

Directed by Celia Hernandez and produced by Stephanie Solis Schnyder and Allie Howland, this production continues LTGI’s commitment to bringing high-quality, thought-provoking theater to the Laredo community. As the fourth production in LTGI’s current season, School of Rock: The Musical promises an unforgettable experience for audiences of all ages.

At the heart of the story is Dewey Finn, a wannabe rock star who fakes his way into substitute teaching at a prestigious prep school where his side hustle turns into an explosive rock revolution as he transforms a class of straight-A students into an epic guitar-shredding, bass-slapping, show-stopping rock band.

A cast of 42 Laredo actors of all ages bring to life this production based on the 2003 smash hit film starring Jack Black. The production features the film’s lyrics by Glenn Slater and additional songs by Andrew Lloyd Webber.

Performance dates and times are July 10, 11, 12, and 13 and July 17, 18, 19, and 20; Thursday through Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Buy tickets at https://ci.ovationtix.com/35860
