Laugh Out Hunger, the South Texas Food Bank’s 2025 fundraiser features the comedy of Steve Treviño. The event is set for August 15 at Sames Auto Arena.
All proceeds directly support operational costs related to food acquisition and distribution for STFB programs across its eight-county service area — Webb, Zapata, Jim Hogg, Dimmit, Maverick, Val Verde, Kinney, and Starr — counties in which an average 29% of the population faces food insecurity.
Comedian Treviño, known as “America’s Favorite Husband,” speaks “wife fluently,” never calls “the guys” for help on a home project, and knows better than to “make his own decisions,” since decision-making is a privilege reserved solely for his wife, Renae.
According to the STFB’s press release, Trevino’s “relatable approach affirms his status as one of the country’s premiere stand-up comedians, viewed over 300 million times, selling-out shows across the nation, and amassing over 3.4 million total social media followers.”
He has produced stand-up specials that have aired on Amazon, NETFLIX, and Showtime. His first Showtime special, Grandpa Joe’s Son, staked out a spot in the Nielsen Top 20 when it first premiered. From the success of that special, he funded, produced, and shot his 2014 NETFLIX hit Relatable. A clip posted to Facebook to promote Relatable generated over 56 million views and paved the way for other of his viral clips.
In 2018, he released the follow-up special, Steve Treviño ’Til Death on Amazon. His fifth special, I Speak Wife was released on YouTube in 2022 and garnered over four million views. He recently filmed his highly anticipated sixth special, Steve Treviño: A Simple Man at The Tobin Center in San Antonio, which was directed by Renae Treviño and aired on NETFLIX.
The comedian regularly raises money for Helicopters for Heroes, an organization benefiting veterans, for whom he helped raise over $1.5 million in the past two years.
The event offers exclusive show seating opportunities and pre-concert entertainment.
Two of the show’s sponsorship levels – Hunger Heroes ($6,500) and Hunger Advocates ($5,000) – have sold out. There is limited availability for Hunger Fighter ($2,000) and Hunger Ally ($150) sponsorships.
