He completed the National Community College Hispanic Council Leadership Program and earned a Certified Novell Administrator Certificate in 1995. Dr. Solis was honored during his final Commencement ceremony this spring with a joyous farewell from the Laredo College family, recognizing his extraordinary service and dedication.
“It is hard to describe the impact of a man who has been one of the strongest pillars of this institution for many decades,” Laredo College President Dr. Minita Ramírez said. “I have had the privilege of working alongside Dr. Fred and can attest to the fact that his commitment and love for Laredo College began when he was a student here. We owe a great deal of gratitude to his heart, his hard work, and his unwavering dedication to ensuring that our students succeeded, that Laredo College thrived, and that our community continued to grow. He will be deeply missed.”
