A mural collage workshop conducted by artist Peter Glassford in late May will offer 12 Laredo students a unique, hands-on opportunity to create sculptural sections of a larger mural installation at the Laredo Center for the Arts.

The opportunity is open to a dozen Laredo students aged 16 to 21 who have applied for participation. A link to that application is attached to this story.

The workshop begins Monday, May 26, and continues through June 6 when Glassford’s exhibition opens to the public.

Glassford’s instruction will emphasize abstraction using random composition and found materials within the individual collages that will collectively be assembled to make the monumental expression of the group.

The studio days will be Tuesday through Saturday during the two-week cycle. Students will explore and project their creativity in a collective atmosphere of collaboration.

The attached questionnaire can be routed to Glassford via email.

Each applicant will be reviewed by Glassford and students will be informed of their acceptance by May 2. The workshop is free, hours will be determined at a later date.
