The City of Laredo will host The Wall That Heals, a three-quarter-scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., along with a mobile Education Center. The powerful exhibit offers visitors an opportunity to reflect, pay tribute, and learn about the sacrifices made by those who served in the Vietnam War. The exhibit will be open to the public 24 hours a day and is free of charge.
The traveling exhibit is presented by the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund (VVMF), the nonprofit organization that founded the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in D.C.
The exhibit’s mobile Education Center shares the history and personal stories of those honored on The Wall and includes an In Memory Honor Roll display. The display shows the photos of local Vietnam veterans honored through VVMF’s In Memory program, which honors veterans who returned home and later died. If local residents know of a Vietnam veteran who returned home and later died, they can apply to honor them for their service through VVMF’s In Memory program. The deadline to submit for this display is March 2, 2025. APPLY HERE!
The three-day/24-hour display allows individuals of all ages to visit and experience the powerful impact of the memorial.
The City of Laredo and the organization committee is seeking volunteers who want to participate in the installation and other tasks that the exhibit requires.
Uni-Trade Stadium is at 6320 Sinatra Pkwy.
