Picasso at the Lapin Agile is an absurdist comedy written by comedy legend Steve Martin. The play has been produced nationwide since it was first written in the 90s. The play imagines Albert Einstein and Pablo Picasso at the same Parisian cafe in 1904, years before the renowned scientist transformed physics with his theory of relativity and the celebrated painter set the world on fire with cubism.
In his first comedy for the stage, the popular actor and screenwriter plays fast and loose with facts, fame, fortune, and geniuses’ musings on the 20th century.
