The Great Debate

The once proud Republican Party that produced Lincoln, Eisenhower, and Reagan has morphed into a cult that is slowly taking away Constitutional rights, voting rights, women’s rights, and minority rights under the guise of Freedom, Faith, and Family.

Their agenda for Project 2025 is frightening and disturbing. It was drawn up by many of Trump’s closest advisors and The Heritage Foundation. Trump’s name is mentioned in it over 300 times. This group is the real Deep State that wants to dismantle the government and set up their own authoritarian government. Trump tells us he knows nothing about it. He also swore he knew nothing about Q-Anon, Proud Boys, KKK leader David Duke, and sexual predator Jeffrey Epstein.

In his debate, he said he hasn’t read it and will not read it. He then says, it has good things and bad things in it. I believe him when he says he hasn’t read it. His closest advisors when he was in the White House assured us that he doesn’t read anything. His daily briefings had to be one-page summaries with lots of pictures and constant praise for his decisions.

Most presidents mellow while in office and realize that they serve all the American people. Trump only likes whomever praises him. Private citizens, including late show comedians incur his wrath daily. He promises to sue everyone who is mean and nasty to him. The future of our Republic will be determined November 6, 2024. It is beyond belief that a certain portion of our population is still undecided as to whom they will be voting for between V.P. Kamala Harris and a convicted felon. Apparently, they can’t decide between a cool lifesaving elixir or drinking arsenic. The debate was a masterful performance by a skilled prosecutor vs. an unhinged, unprepared schoolboy. History books for the next generations to come will ponder how a former US president declared “They (Haitian immigrants) are eating the cats and dogs in Springfield.” If a stranger said that out loud sitting on a park bench or next to you on a barstool, you would slowly back away and call the authorities. However, He and his running mate Vance kept repeating this falsehood, and his cult followers ate it up.

The latest “attempt” on the indicted candidate is rich in irony. Florida passed laws that anyone can carry any weapon, including AR-15s in public without question. The candidate was golfing over 500 hundred yards away and not in the line of fire. The suspect never fired a shot. A Secret Service agent allegedly spotted a barrel sticking out of the brush. The agent fired at the barrel. The suspect drove away. A passing vehicle took a photo of his license plate for unknown reasons. He left behind all the evidence. DeSantis wants to take over the investigation. He doesn’t trust the Feds to charge the suspect and take him to trial. DeSantis allowed his cult leader to vote for himself in Florida in spite of his N.Y.C felony conviction.

The malignant narcissist iRepublican candidate for President is outraged that a private citizen would dare to endorse his opponent. He has publicly stated, “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!” If anyone harms her because of his rants, he will disavow any responsibility. This is the same man who joked about Nancy Pelosi’s husband who was viciously attacked at his home by a Trump supporter. The cult leader is deteriorating mentally every single day. He forgets where he is speaking and who his opponent is. When President Biden sounded like a frail 82-year-old man at the debate, The New York Times and fellow Democrats suggested he withdraw from the race. Admirably and for the good of the country, he announced before the convention that he would not be seeking a second term.

There has been no newspaper or fellow Republican politician to suggest that the 78-year-old convicted Republican presidential candidate withdraw from the race for the same reasons. Double standard? His good buddy P. Diddy was recently arrested in New York for sex crimes. Up to now he has been denied bail. He should’ve told them he was running for office and claimed election interference. We will wait to see if Speaker Johnson and several of his cohorts attend P. Diddy’s trial in support of the cult leader’s friend. We will wait for Jim Jordan to start hearings and subpoena P. Diddy’s prosecutor and the judge’s staff.

After promising for four years while in office to repeal the Affordable Care Act (Obama Care) and replace it within weeks with something “incredible,” candidate Trump told the moderator of the Harris/Trump debate he had a “concept” of a plan. Obviously, he has no concept of what it means to be President.

I will leave the following questions to the Webb County Republican leaders and supporters of Donald J. Trump: What are Trump’s most admirable personal qualities? What is it about Trump that you would want your young children to emulate?
