Somehow, it never occurred to me to ask the Ursuline Sisters, the Sisters of Mercy, the Sisters of St. John Bosco, and the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word if they had feline pets

Recent deliberately harsh and hare-brained comments by Donald Trump’s Vice-Presidential running mate J.D. Vance impelled me to write.

Vance alluded that the Democratic Party was somehow being led by “childless cat women.” I am extremely grateful to the childless career women who taught me English, history, Bible studies, geography, Spanish, mathematics, acting, literature, poetry, physics, chemistry, civics, and radiographic science, among other educational disciplines that guided me through life and career: The Ursuline Sisters, Sisters of Mercy, Salesian Sisters of St. John Bosco, and the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word.

Somehow, it never occurred to me to ask if they had feline pets.

  3. So, is he including that ALL nuns are sociopath, etc. Or, will he cherry pic and say, “they are exempt” just asking.

  5. Great Point! Because our Ursuline nuns plus the rest of these nuns in all Laredo were truly caregivers. They taught us right from wrong and gave their life to serve humanity. Something that the people that idolize money nor Christ will ever know.

    We were their children and so very grateful
    for their gracious presence in our lives.
    We were truly blessed.
    Thank you for reminding about these childless women.

  7. I attended our lady of Guadalupe school up to the 8th grade and I give those nuns credit for the discipline and primary education that they gave me. I became an honor roll student in most of my Junior High n High School years thanks to the nuns in my gramar school years. My appreciation n respect to them.
