Laredo College welcomes FlamencoFest for workshops July 30 – Aug. 3; Yjastros Repertory Company performs Aug. 2

Laredo College will host the world-renowned American Flamenco Repertory Company: Yjastros, for FlamencoFest, a weeklong workshop from July 30 to August 3.

The legendary dancers and musicians of Yjastros will offer three dance workshops for different levels of experience — Beginners/Beginners Adult, Beginners/Intermediate, Intermediate/Advanced; as well as workshops in Guitarra and Cante.

The cost of each workshop is $100. A discount is available for two courses at $175, and three for $250. Instructors include Andrea Lozano, Kayla Lyall, Ileana Gomez, Mario Febres, and Vicente Griego.

Yjastros will perform Aug. 2 at the Guadalupe and Lilia Martinez Fine Arts Center Theater, offering an evening of music, vibrant color, and intricate footwork will come together in a performance entitled ‘Pa’ Mi Raza.’

Tickets for left and right balcony seats are available for $25 and center balcony for $30. Left and right orchestra seats are $40, while direct orchestra seating is $50.

FlamencoFest ends on the high note of an intimate tablao performance at the Kazen Student Center on Aug. 3.
