He did it his way.

On January 2017, recently Convicted Felon Trump danced with trophy wife Melania to Sinatra’s classic “My Way.“ He was photographed singing the lyrics as he danced in an obvious dig at naysayers who were shocked he had pulled off becoming President.

The lyrics’ oft-repeated refrain told the world the world “I did it my way.“

Frank’ s opening lyrics to the song were overlooked but gave all of us who feared what was to come some comfort. “And now the end is near, and so I face the final curtain”.

All lovers of democracy had to wait seven long years for the final curtain to drop, but it was worth the wait. Another refrain was eerily prophetic: ‘’ Yes there were times, I’m sure you knew, when I bit off more than I could chew…”

His businesses filed four Chapter 11 bankruptcies, leaving thousands of creditors holding unpaid bills. Only a business genius manages to go broke running a casino.

Millions were spent on his own NYC and DC hotels during the inauguration period, which raised the nightly rates three to four times the normal rates. The grift and corruption started on Day 1 of his administration.

The May 30, 2024 verdicts by an NYC jury finding Trump guilty of 34 felonies should mean the final curtain is closing on the convicted felon. But not so fast. His rabid supporters are living in an alternate universe. Like characters in Alice in Wonderland, they are doubling down on their enthusiasm to nominate him to the highest office in the land. The NYC “hush money” trial was unlike any criminal trial ever prosecuted.

Never before has a criminal defendant been allowed to hold a press conference after every court proceeding to incessantly attack the judge, his family, the prosecutors, and the entire jury as corrupt, vicious, and unfair. He whined that no one could get a “fair” trial in Manhattan because they were all (gasp!) Democrats. Never mind that all the witnesses who testified against him and underwent a grueling cross examination by his defense lawyers were once his closest allies, including a porn star he paid off to keep her mouth shut.

Never in our long, proud history has a sitting Speaker of the House abandoned his duties to act as a cheerleader outside the courthouse for a criminal defendant, surrounded by several Republican Congressmen and Senators.

Not only did they cheer an adjudicated rapist and fraudster, they attacked the entire US Judicial system. These are the Republican “leaders” who apparently do not know criminal trial procedure. On that same day there were probably thousands of criminal trials heard by juries all over the nation. The only one that outraged them was the one in which the criminal defendant slept through most of the testimony and passed gas to the utter disgust of those in courtroom.

The 34 guilty verdicts were met with shock and outrage by his MAGA followers and caused contributions to his campaign to skyrocket. I suspect some local bank presidents and former mayors are begging all their friends for large contributions to the Convicted Felon and Cancun Cruz.

Every felon convicted in the US loses valuable rights as a citizen the right to vote, to own firearms, to sit on juries, to travel freely, and to hold certain professional business licenses. Many states, including Texas, do not allow felons to run for elected office.

That will not stop Texas dictator Gov. Abbott from begging to be Trump’s choice for VP. Thirty-eight countries do not allow convicted felons to enter. Canada and Mexico, among many others will forbid Trump from visiting their country even for official diplomatic reasons. The White House bars anyone with felony convictions from even visiting on tours.

Are they going to change their rules for a convicted President? No one with a felony conviction can obtain a security clearance by the FBI. Why should Trump be the exception? Most professions bar convicted felons, including law enforcement, teaching, and other sensitive jobs. Of the 38 countries that bar felons, Egypt, S. Korea, Ukraine, and the United Arab Emirates are some he could not visit as US President. China, Israel, and the United Kingdom would bar Trump from entering for any reason. Maybe he would send his VP whoever that might be. Vivek? Tim Scott? Tom Cotton?

Convicted felons are barred from getting bank loans. There goes Trump’s real estate “empire”. Maybe Ivanka or Jared can secure loans for him.

In most cultures, we have a saying: “Tell me who your friends are and I will tell you who you are.” A partial list of Trump’s closest friends and advisers during his time in office all had one thing in common. Chief Strategist Steve Bannon, Campaign Chair Paul Manafort, National Security Advisor Michael Flynn, Personal Advisor Roger Stone, Personal Attorney Michael Cohen, Campaign Advisor Rick Gates, CEO of Trump Organization Allen Weisselberg, Top Aide Peter Navarro — these are all convicted felons who took the fall for their dear Leader. I am leaving out all of Trump’s lawyers who have pleaded to felonies or have been disbarred for lying for him.

So far, I have not heard from any local Republican leaders comment on their hero’s conviction or on his three pending trials. The so-called Witch Hunt has caught, arrested, and convicted their own corrupt Witch, complete with cauldron and broomstick. Please tell us why you still want to have him as your Presidential nominee and the primary reasons you want him back in power without restraint.
