The Webb County Heritage Foundation will host the second evening of “Movies on the Patio” on Friday, Oct. 13 at the Villa Antigua Border Heritage Museum, 810 Zaragoza St. at 7:30 p.m.

The spooky series continues with “The Mummy’s Tomb.” This 1942 black-and-white version of a horror classic stars Lon Chaney as the 3,000 year-old Mummy terrorizing a small town in America. To quote the movie, “The moon rides high in the sky again, Kharis; there’s death in the night air. Your work begins.”

“This popular Halloween event brings people downtown to enjoy spooky family fun every year,” said Margarita Araiza, WCHF Executive Director. “It’s always fun connecting with our loyal followers and seeing new folks discovering the thrill of a classic horror movie and visiting our Haunted Heritage exhibit inside the Border Heritage Museum.”

The films will be presented outdoors on the patio of the Border Heritage Museum. In case of rain, the event will be postponed.

Admission is free and open to the public. Seating is provided. Yummy food options will be available from Ala Burger, El Meson de San Agustin, and KJ Charcuterie.

Audience members are invited to dress in costume and participate during the movie with sound effects.

Come enjoy a spooky movie evening under the stars in historic, downtown (haunted) Laredo.

This year’s movies are sponsored by realtors Lee Diaz, Erica García, Mariana Serna, and Keller Williams Laredo. The WCHF also thanks the American Legion Post #59 for their participation.
