(Laredo, Tx) – The Webb County Heritage Foundation continues its annual Halloween tradition of two evenings of “Movies on the Patio” on Friday, October 6 and Friday, October 13 at 7:30 p.m. at the Villa Antigua Border Heritage Museum at 810 Zaragoza St.

The first film, Dracula, is the 1979 production that stars Frank Langella as a very seductive vampire. The film also features stellar actors such as Laurence Olivier, Donald Pleasance, and Kate Nelligan. With music performed by John Williams and the London Symphony Orchestra, this classic Gothic horror tale is both strangely exciting and pleasantly familiar. Langella’s reviewers described his vampiric portrayal as “an erotic rock star of smooth and terrifying range.”

The second film presented on the following Friday, October 13 is The Mummy’s Tomb (1942). This early black-and-white version of a horror classic stars Lon Chaney as the 3,000 year-old Mummy terrorizing a small town in America. To quote the movie, “The moon rides high in the sky again, Kharis; there’s death in the night air. Your work begins.”

Sponsors for this year’s movies are realtors Lee Diaz, Erica García, Mariana Serna, and Keller Williams Laredo. The films will be screened outdoors on the patio of the Border Heritage Museum. In case of rain, the event will be postponed.

Admission is free and open to the public. Seating is provided. Audience members are invited to dress in costume and to participate during the movie with sound effects on this spooky movie evening under the stars in historic, downtown (haunted) Laredo.
