An introductory meeting for the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Master Gardener Volunteer Program is set for Wednesday, August 30 at the Webb County Agriculture Building, Suite 5 at 7209 E. Saunders St.
The Texas Master Gardener program is comprised of community members interested in completing a 60-hour in-person course dedicated to lawns, trees, shrubs, flowers, and gardens. The introductory meeting will provide information on how the program works, what is expected of a Master Gardener intern, an overview of the classes, and an explanation of the exam and certification to become a certified and registered Master Gardener volunteer.
Attendance at the August 30 meeting is not mandatory for individuals who plan to apply for the program.
Registration for the introductory meeting is available at https://webb.agrilife.org/master-gardener-volunteer-program/
The Extension service will soon offer two additional volunteer courses – Master Wellness Volunteer Program with a focus on health, nutrition, and active living; and a Master Naturalist Volunteer Program with a focus on natural habitats, wildlife, and natural resources.
