Tickets are on sale for the upcoming two-week run of the Laredo Theatre Guild’s (LTGI) production of Disney’s The Little Mermaid, which is based on one of Hans Christian Andersen’s most beloved stories.
This irresistible, hauntingly beautiful, love story for the ages centers about
Ariel, King Triton’s youngest daughter, who wishes to pursue the human Prince Eric in the world above, and to that end bargains with the evil sea witch, Ursula, to trade her tail for legs. The bargain is not what it seems, and Ariel elicits the help of her colorful friends – Flounder the fish, Scuttle the seagull and Sebastian the crab – to restore order under the sea.
Week one of the show opens Thursday, July 13 at 7:30 p.m. at the Guadalupe and Lilia Martinez Fine Arts Center on the Fort Mcintosh Campus and continues with evening performances through Saturday. July 15 and a matinee performance on Sunday, July 16 at 3 p.m.
Week two offers 7:30 p.m. performances Thursday, July 20 through Saturday, July 22 and a 3 p.m. matinee

Addison Cavazos as Ariel and Giancarlo Pedraza as Prince Eric headline a talented cast of 27 that includes Maxstadt, Raul Ramos, Rafael Mangual, José Villa, Alejandro López, Kailey Smith, Ana Lu Ramirez, Ricky Castillon, Javier López, Isabella Farias, and Leila Leigh Graham. And Carisa Romo, Cynthia Gutierrez, Vanessa Rodriguez, Lucy Batey, Natalie Neigh, Zoe Benavides, Aurora M. Chapa, Maya López, Alejandra Peña, Aida Ramirez, Marco Vela Jr., Rogelio Santiago Montoya, Alby Garza, Jessie Solis, and Victor Serna.
LTGI, well known for gathering and managing local talent for the stage, repeats the exercise in assembling its production teams. For The Little Mermaid, that team includes Gigi Caballero de Flores, assistant director; Celia Hernandez, vocal director; Robert López, music director; Roland Vela, choreographer; Leann Bernal, assistant choreographer; Jessica Verastigui, stage manager; Alyssa Cabria and Vicky Ramos, assistant stage managers; Damaris Guzman, costumer; Matt McVinnie, sound mixer/engineer; and Dr. Mary Grace Carroll, rehearsal accompanist.
