The City of Laredo Utilities Department has issued a Boil Water Notice due to low distribution pressure resulting from a major 12-inch line break and subsequent loss of water tank levels in areas along IH-359.

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has required the City of Laredo public water system to notify all customers in the affected areas to boil their water prior to consumption as a precautionary measure (e.g., washing hands/face, brushing teeth, drinking, etc.).

This Boil Water Notice includes areas in the City of Laredo from Larga Vista Subdivision north of SH 359 and Las Misiones Subdivision south of SH 359 to the east to Pueblo Nuevo on SH 359 on the north and south sides. The affected areas are identified in the attached map.

Attached is the official Boil Water Notice effective Thursday, July 6, along with specific water use instructions.

City crews have begun addressing the issue, working to repair the line break and restore pressures.

The City encourages all Laredoans to conserve water during this time. When it is no longer necessary to boil water, public water system officials will notify customers when it is safe for drinking or human consumption purposes.
