The Laredo Center for the Arts Dia de los Muertos Cultural Celebration and Exhibition opens Friday, Nov. 4, with the exhibit of Andy Villarreal’s Galactic Warriors and Rituals of Mesoamerica. The Laredo Center for the Arts is at 500 San Agustin Ave.
The festivities, which begin at 6 p.m. and are open to the public, include
altares installations, art workshops, an outdoor food and vendors market, calavera recitations, and a DJ set by The Pop Rocks.
Folklorico performances will be presented by the Gabriela Mendoza García Ballet Folklorico, the TAMIU Ballet Folklorico, and the Instituto Cultural Mexicano de Laredo Grupo Folklorico.
Vendors who will bring their wares to the market include El Pilon Snacks, Los Cohis, Irlanda Cake Studios, Abuela Gaby, Ke Freskas, FIT2PLANT Succulents and Tropicals, Mocreates, Umbran Jewelry, Genesis Hernandez Art, Kelsey’s Creations, Alexander Barron, Brenda Muñiz Flower Crowns, Folklor, and Art byConcepcion Escobedo.
