Twelve talented actors and singers and dancers ranging in age from 15 to 70 will fill the production’s stage with talent and hilarity March 3 through March 5 at 7:30 p.m. and on March 6 at 3 p.m. Tickets are $10. All proceeds go to student scholarships.
“If the pandemic has taught us anything, it is that the arts are more important than they are often given credit,” LC Professor of Music and Voice Dr. Joseph Crabtree said. “Drama, music, acting and telling stories — these are all the things that we turned to when binge-watching our favorite shows or listening to our podcasts, music, or audible books. Live theater in Laredo does all of these things, allows performers to discover and explore their craft and shows Laredo what they are doing first hand. The Laredo College Opera Workshop has been a stage that has featured those who have gone on to do television and film roles, sing and act both in America and internationally, and to find careers in all levels of education and artistic development. Laredo should embrace these opportunities to experience local talent as often as they are able,” he added.
The event is open to the public. LC adheres to all necessary protocols and guidelines to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus.
