Representative Tracy O. King (D-Uvalde) has announced his campaign for re-election to District 80 of the Texas House of Representatives. The new District 80 includes the counties of Atascosa, Dimmit, Frio, Uvalde, Zavala, and part of Webb.
He was first elected to the Texas House of Representatives in 1994. His seniority has allowed him to hold numerous leadership positions, the most recent of which is Chairman of the House Natural Resources Committee. In addition to his chairmanship, he also serves on the Energy Resources Committee, which is responsible for the oversight of the oil and gas industry. In the past he has chaired the Licensing and Administrative Procedures Committee, the Agriculture and Livestock Committee, and the Border and International Affairs Committee.
In his re-election announcement, Rep. King said, “I will continue to approach the needs of our State with a fair and determined mind. The seniority I have will continue to play a pivotal role in securing key leadership positions that will greatly benefit District 80.”
Rep. King said that as a local businessman, father, and husband, he is keenly aware of the needs and challenges facing South and Southwest Texas families.
“I look forward to another term in the Texas House of Representatives and the opportunity to continue serving the residents of District 80. It is an honor and a privilege to serve as your State Representative and a responsibility I take very seriously,” said King. “I am sincerely grateful for everyone’s support over the years and look forward to continuing our efforts in the Texas House of Representatives.”
Rep. King’s agenda for the next session is to continue his efforts for more job opportunities, better health care, improved public education, additional benefits for veterans, lower taxes, and a better business climate for the citizens of South and Southwest Texas.
