The TAMIU College Democrats are sponsoring a Rally for Reproductive Justice on Friday, October 1 on the TAMIU campus. The march begins at 2 p.m. on the Zaffirini greens.
The local march is held in solidarity with more than 110 organizations that have joined forces to take part in the October 2 #RallyforAbortionJustice organized by Women’s March to show that Americans overwhelmingly support Roe v. Wade.
This national day of action will feature more than 600 events in all fifty states.
The actions in Laredo and across the country come as the Supreme Court to begins oral arguments on October 4 in a case that will determine the future of abortion rights for all Americans.
To promote safety of the local outdoor event during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, participants are asked to wear a facemask and adhere to a physical distancing plan. Participants are urged to carry signs expressing their views.
