The Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) has announced that beginning on Monday, March 29, all adults will be eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine in the State of Texas with any of the available and registered providers.
The DSHS is still directing all vaccine providers to give priority to those who are 80 years of age or older when registering for appointments. The Laredo Health Department continues to work with Curative and will ensure that all vaccines are administered according to the DSHS directives.
Vaccine supplies are expected to increase next week, according to DSHS, which will release a state-wide website for citizens to search for availability and register for an appointment with an approved vaccine provider.
The Laredo Health Department has reported that 39% of Webb County’s population over the age of 16 has been vaccinated with at least one dose, which translates to almost 77,000 people. Texas has administered more than 9.3 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.
