October means “Haunted Heritage” at the Villa Antigua® Border Heritage Museum

Aaah-oooooo…. The Webb County Heritage Foundation invites the public to visit “Haunted Heritage – Myths and Legends of Laredo” on exhibit in spooky, downtown Laredo. The display features a spine-tingling photo exhibit of Laredo’s most infamous haunted sites that is sure to make you walk just a little faster through certain areas of the city.

The exhibit explains some of the stories and legends of Laredo’s mysterious past. On hand are some of the region’s most notorious spooky characters: “La Llorona”, the chupacabra, the UFO crash near Laredo, and the spirits that visit many local schools.

The exhibit is up throughout the month of October at the Villa Antigua® Border Heritage Museum at 810 Zaragoza St. in historic, downtown Laredo. Museum hours are Tuesday – Saturday 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Admission is $3. Admission is free very Tuesday. The public is advised that COVID-19 restrictions are in place. All visitors are required to wear a face mask and maintain social distancing.

Haunted Heritage – Myths and Legends of Laredo book available now

This collection of ghost stories and strange myths, brought to you by the Webb County Heritage Foundation, documents many of the region’s most popular and notorious tales of spooky occurrences and unexplained phenomena.

The book is available at the Republic of the Río Grande® Museum, 1005 Zaragoza St. Museum hours are Tuesday – Saturday 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. COVID-19 restrictions are in place. All visitors are required to wear a mask and maintain social distancing.
