The Laredo Housing Authority (LHA) will break ground Friday morning at the Ana MarĂa Lozano Housing Development for its third location of BiblioTech Digital Library. The development is located at

6500 Springfield Ave. The ceremony begins at 10:30 a.m.

Laredo is the second city in the nation to implement a fully digital library, a program, which was modeled after the one that was originally founded in Bexar County in 2013.

The LHA collaborated with District 5 City Council Member Nelly Vielma and City of Laredo to bring BiblioTech to Laredo. The platform offers a friendly environment in which technology becomes the primary tool for education and empowerment for children and adults alike.

The mission of Laredo BiblioTech is to provide community residents technological access to enhance literacy and education, promote reading as recreation, and equip Laredoans with necessary tools to thrive as citizens of the digital age.
