Senator Judith Zaffirini will kick off her re-election campaign by Zoom on Tuesday, Sept. 1, at 6 p.m.

The Laredo Democrat has represented the 21st Senatorial District since 1987. The district stretches from the Río Grande to the Colorado River and to the Port of Corpus Christi and the Río Grande Valley.
Re-elected in 2016, Zaffirini is the first Hispanic woman elected to the Texas Senate, the second highest ranking senator, and the highest ranking woman and Hispanic senator.
