United ISD’s VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) program site coordinators and volunteers will be at the Webb County Larga Vista Community Center on Saturday, February 8, to prepare free income tax returns for area residents.
Preparation services will begin at at 10 a.m. and continue until 2 p.m. The Larga Vista Community Center is located at 5401 Cisneros Street.
“This is a great opportunity for residents to get their returns prepared free of charge,” said Commissioner “Wawi” Tijerina. “We encourage residents to bring all the necessary documents in order for an accurate tax return to be prepared.”
Last year, United ISD’s VITA program volunteers prepared 1,714 e-filed returns.
VITA’s overall effort last year evidenced a total of $4.2 million refunded to the Laredo community and surrounding areas.
