Texas Parks and Wildlife Commissioner Ana Galo and Texas State Representative for District 80 Tracy O. King have been named first-ever recipients of Webb County LULAC Council #22387’s Orgullo Latino Legacy Award (OLLA). The recognition was announced at a Tuesday press conference at which H-E-B was named the first-ever business/organization recipient.
The OLLA award was established to honor individuals and organizations that bear impact on the lives of children and families and the LULAC mission to serve Latino families in need.
The Council will recognize the recipients formally at the Orgullo Latino Legacy Award Reception on Thursday, February 27, at the Palacio de los Presidentes, 819 Los Presidentes Avenue. The program begins at 6:30 p.m.
The Orgullo event will feature a seated dinner and live music. Tables for 10 are available for $500., and individual tickets are on sale for $50. To reserve tables, to purchase tickets, to buy congratulatory advertising, or to be a sponsor of the event, contact Edgar Campos at (956) 251-6947.
According to Priscilla Pantoja, LULAC #22387 vice president, the recipients “best exemplify the pride of the community and the spirit of giving.”
