IBC Bank-Zapata has announced the award of $1,000 A. R. Sanchez Memorial Scholarships to seven deserving college-bound high school graduates.

The seven recipients are Larissa Salinas, Zapata High School; Mariah Alaniz, Freer High School; Andrea Botello, Zapata High School; Alinna Garcia, Zapata High School; Cesia G Gonzalez, Roma High School; Kaitlyn Treviño, Hebbronville High School; Kimberly Vela, Rio Grande High School; and Michael Ybañez, Hebbronville High School.

“These civic-minded young people were selected for their dedication to volunteerism and community service,” said IBC Bank – Zapata president Ricardo Ramirez. “They represent our future, and IBC Bank is honored to support them as they venture into college and start a new chapter in their lives,” Ramirez, said.

IBC Bank began the A.R. Sanchez, Sr. Memorial Scholarship Program over two decades ago. Since then over $2 million in scholarships have been awarded to students across South Texas and Oklahoma.
