Federico Gutierrez will be sworn in on Friday, February 1, as the new District Attorney’s Office Chief Investigator.
Gutierrez will replace O.J. Hale, who recently retired after serving as chief investigator for over 45 years.
Webb County District Attorney Isidro R. Alaniz will officiate at the 10 a.m. ceremony in the Central Jury Room at 1110 Victoria.
Gutierrez, a native Laredoan, joined the 49th Judicial District Attorneys’ Office in 2002 as a criminal investigator.
Shortly after, he became a member of the District Attorney Task Force division assigned to Homeland Security Investigations. In that capacity he guided numerous federal, state and local task force officers in the success of investigations aimed at protecting the United States against criminal violations of narcotics, bulk cash smuggling, firearms, and commercial fraud.
Congratulations, Mr. Gutierrez.
If you’ve ever met Mr. Gutierrez, you’d know he is an absolute amazing person and an amazing pick for this.
The district is in great hands.
