Two former LISD board members, Jesus Martinez and Justo Guerra, are running in the November 6 election to regain the board seats they once held.

In the race for District 2 — which encompasses the neighborhoods surrounding Daiches, Dovalina, and Macdonell Elementary School — Martinez, a business owner, will square off with attorney Claudia Valdez Balli and Raquel Margarita Ibarra, supervisor of the Webb County adult probation office.

Guerra, a retired postmaster, seeks to reclaim the District 7 board seat — which includes the neighborhoods of Kawas Elementary School, Ligarde Elementary School, Santo Niño Elementary School, Zachry Elementary School, Cigarroa Middle School, and Cigarroa High School. He faces former LISD human resources director and now Webb County Human Resources director Ernesto Guajardo, City of Laredo police officer Agapito Perez, and El Metro public information officer Monica García.

Early voting and election day polling sites can be viewed at the site of the Webb County Elections administrator at webbcountytx.gov
