Local leaders, business operators, environmentalists and the general public are invited to attend the 9th Annual Laredo Environmental Summit, which will take place Wednesday, October 10 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Texas A&M International University’s Student Center Ballroom.
The Summit is designed to engage and empower citizens, elected officials, business owners, and grassroots leaders with the ultimate purpose of identifying environmental issues and tangible solutions that will bring about positive and sustainable change to our environment.
This year’s theme, “Let’s Team up to Clean Up,” focuses on learning about on-going efforts that build, shape, and have an impact on the future of Laredo.
The annual Summit offers an opportunity to explore ideas presented by professionals in various environmental capacities to help participants recognize the importance of protecting our natural resources, identifying possible environmental challenges within the community, instilling environmental stewardship, and encouraging involvement in maintaining and improving the environment.
The Laredo Environmental Summit is under the leadership of State Senator Judith Zaffirini and in partnership with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, City of Laredo, Webb County, Texas A&M International University, grassroots leaders and other organizations.
Participants are invited to a continental breakfast and lunch.
The public is cordially invited to attend.
