The first fellow the MC asked for help with lumber at Lowe’s wasn’t any help, but he called Pedro who was genial, polite, and of great assistance helping determine which lumber was too bowed or warped to use. He also loaded the MC’s truck. Thank you, Pedro.

The MC reports incredibly bad service from Brown Hyundai for a 2012 Sonata that has gone into the dealership six times over the last six months to address the same issue with an engine and RPMs that rev high even at low and steady speeds. The dealership has cleaned random parts and even exchanged random parts with a demo on the lot. And beyond the six-month period, the owner of the car has — for much of the life of the vehicle — arranged countless rides to and from work while Brown Hyundai was repairing (not repairing) her car. Easter came and went with the borrowed part from the demo, and the owner never heard from the dealer that the new part for her car had been received, which is fine because that part wasn’t the cause of the problem. National Hyundai has been apprised of the shoddy service, and perhaps the dealership’s owner will lay eyes on this passage and send his local mechanics to Hyundai school.

The MC’s favorite Vaquero Cleaners store is the one on Guadalupe — very speedy service from nice people who know their customers.

And speaking of health care resources, both of the Tommy Izaguirres (Senior and Segundo) at Laredo Downtown Pharmacy offer valuable information to those taking on a new med. The service there is personal, though it moves like a well-tuned machine.
