The Laredo Immigrant Alliance (LIA), an organization of immigrants and allies who work for immigrant rights, willsponsor a DACA Renewal Clinic on Saturday, April 7, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Holding Institute Community Center at 1102 Santa María.
The failure of the federal government to act on behalf of DACA status individuals has fomented an urgency to renew DACA permits. Trained volunteers will be on hand to help fill out paperwork. Pro bono attorneys will review DACA application forms and assist with the permit renewals.
The LIA is asking workshop participants to bring a current work permit or DACA approval notice and photo ID; Social Security card; all previous DACA applications; a $400 money order; and if applicable, also to bring a passport, birth certificate, all copies of criminal documents, and all advanced parole documents.
