American Legion Post 59 Arturo T. Benavides Memorial Post and the League of United Latin American Citizens Veterans Council 777 will host a ceremony in observance of the 50th Anniversary of the Vietnam War on Thursday, March 29, at 6 p.m. at the BBVA Compass facility at 600 Matamoros Street. The ceremony will honor all who served from November 1, 1955 to May 15, 1975. All Vietnam era veterans will be recognized during the event.
As commemorative partners, the American Legion and LULAC join nearly 10,000 other organizations across the nation supporting the Department of Defense in this mission to honor and thank Vietnam Veterans.

All veterans and their families are invited to participate in this expression of gratitude The commemoration recognizes all men and women who served on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces during the United States’ involvement in Vietnam from November 1, 1955 to May 15, 1975. Nine million Americans, approximately 7.2 million living today, served during that period. The commemoration makes no distinction between Veterans who served in-country, in-theater, or were stationed elsewhere during those 20 years. All answered the call to duty.
