The South Texas Afghanistan Iraq Veterans Association (STAIVA), a non-profit created for the empowerment of all veterans who serve in any conflict, donated new school uniforms to 19 second-grade students at J. W. Arndt Elementary School this morning.
STAVIA members Gabriel López, Edgar Olguín, Luis Valverde, and Eva Perez delivered the uniforms to the students of Mrs. Esmeralda Villarreal to help them complete the school year.
“Operation Uniform” is a repeat project for STAVIA.
López, assistant director of the Texas Veterans Leadership Program and commander of the Laredo STAVIA chapter, said, “We are grateful for the opportunity to give back to a community that supports its veterans, and we are especially happy to assist children who need a helping hand.”
