Lara’s press release said the Post came to the decision “after several members expressed their concerns regarding the location” and “after several discussions with the Post leadership.”
The release indicated that the public needs to be drawn into plans for the museum’s construction.
According to Quartermaster Gabriel López, Commander Lara will relay this information at the next Commanders meeting, an upcoming meeting of individuals who reportedly represent Laredo’s 6,000 veterans.
López said that Lara wants the community to know that VFW Post 9194 cares about the community and will continue to serve Laredo.
